An integral part of Sunday School Teacher Appreciation Day is the national search for the Sunday School Teacher of the Year. This award was established in honor of Dr. Henrietta Mears—a famous Christian educator who influenced the lives of such well-known and respected Christian leaders as Dr. Billy Graham, Bill and Vonette Bright,
Dr. Richard Halverson and many more.

You can honor your Sunday School teachers by nominating them for this award. If one of your teachers is selected, he or she will receive a dream vacation for two to Hawaii, plus free curriculum, resources and more for your church!
